Calvin Capital is based in Manchester with asset portfolios in the UK and Australia. It is looking to expand its current Business Development team with the hire of a Business Development Manager. The successful candidate would report to the New Business Development Director. This will be a high-profile role with additional exposure to the other members of the senior Calvin Capital management, including CEO, CFO, CCO, Legal Counsel and Operations Director.

Transactions that Calvin Capital have completed in recent years range from £25m-£1bn with typical deal size around £250m. The successful candidate will be expected to support the New Business Development Director with the assessment of potential asset funding opportunities and identification of new market sectors/asset classes for Calvin Capital to consider, as it continues its rapid expansion and development of its strategy.

The ideal candidate

The successful candidate will be able to take the lead on developing and implementing plans to proactively identify suitable opportunities – from both formal procurement processes and direct interaction with potential clients and other stakeholders, working closely with Calvin Capital’s Directors.

Role responsibilities

The candidate will be expected to engage with potential clients at senior and operational levels to understand their requirements for asset provision and what propositions and funding models might be attractive to them.

In addition, liaising with the Transactions team to produce, develop and present approval and recommendation papers to Calvin Capital’s Investment Committee.

The successful candidate will have senior level experience of Business Development and Commercial acumen, ideally related to the energy industry. In particular, a knowledge of emerging energy storage technologies and Electric Vehicle charging markets would be an advantage.
